Slow Slow Slow Slow
Music fanatics like me tend to acquire a lot of listening material. These days, it’s even easier to do that with a few extra hours and a lot of mouse clicking. It’s a great deal of fun, but it has also weighed down my hard drive with 121 GB of mp3s and such.
The troubling thing is how much of it I have likely NOT listened to. Not a smart move for someone who is trying to make a living out of writing about music and tries to fill the gaps in his knowledge on a daily basis.
So, inspired by Michaelangelo Matos’ last year of effort to listen to every bit of music he received at least once – something he called the Slow Listening Movement – I’m going to try and do the same. And, because I have little else to go up on my blog other than reprinting and linking to the stuff that I write, I’m going to report on my efforts and do some quick reviews of what I listen to up here, excluding the stuff meant for other projects and assignments.
More on this later… I have to get some sleep.
That’s great. It’s not nearly as difficult as you might think it is. Good luck!
