piggybacking on our good friends at idolator, i’m asking those of you who care to join in the “fun” to make your list of favorite songs from each year that you’ve been alive. leave yours in the comments or leave a link there to your own blogged list.
looking over mine, i couldn’t help but notice how…well…white my selections are. despite the fact that i listened to and still do listen to a great deal of music from other cultures, races, creeds, etc., i’m aligning very much with my race in my musical favorites. there’s something more to this, but i don’t really feel like exploring it on a three-day weekend.
also, i tried to keep favorite albums and favorite songs separate. it didn’t work for some entries, but for the most part, i attempted to make sure my favorite long players list was its own entity.
